Specialist assessment
If your GP has recommended seeing a specialist
If you have been experiencing gynaecological symptoms or have concerns about your reproductive health, your GP may recommend seeing a specialist for further assessment. At Gynae Solution, we welcome patients who have been referred by their GP and work closely with primary care professionals to provide specialist gynaecological assessment and treatment.
A GP referral may be recommended when your symptoms require further investigation, when an initial diagnosis is unclear, or when specialist advice is needed to determine the most appropriate treatment.
Your first appointment
What Happens After Your Referral?
Once you have been referred, your appointment with Mr Jafaru Abu will provide an opportunity to discuss your symptoms and medical history in greater detail.
During your consultation, Mr Abu will review any information provided by your GP, including previous investigations, test results, scans or treatments. He will also ask you about your current symptoms and how they are affecting your day-to-day life.
You will have time to explain your concerns and ask questions. Mr Abu will then discuss his findings with you and explain whether any further investigations may be appropriate.
Depending on your circumstances, this may include an examination, ultrasound or other diagnostic tests. Where appropriate, some investigations may be arranged during your initial appointment, while others may require a separate appointment.
Understanding your options
A Clear Path Forward
Our aim is to provide you with a clear understanding of what may be causing your symptoms and what your options are.
If a diagnosis is made, Mr Abu will explain this to you in straightforward terms and discuss the treatment options available. Where appropriate, conservative or non-surgical treatments may be considered before surgery.
If surgery or another specialist procedure is recommended, you will have the opportunity to discuss the proposed treatment, including its benefits, potential risks, alternatives and expected recovery.
Continuity of care
Keeping Your GP Informed
We recognise the importance of continuity of care between your GP and specialist. With your consent, relevant information from your consultation, investigations and treatment can be communicated back to your GP, helping ensure that everyone involved in your care has a clear understanding of your diagnosis and ongoing treatment plan.
